Walter Mouton, Jr.

 

Walter was born November 30, 1938 to Walter Sr. and Letha Domingne, and he is father of three, John, Debbie, and Kevin.

He learned accordion at age of nine and formed the band , Scott Playboys, in 1952 at the age of thirteen and still run the band to this day.

Original members were Walter Jr., Rodney Miller, John Allen Guillot, and Leeman Prejean.

"Through the years I learned to play the fiddle, guitar, bass and steel guitar."

Some places played in Louisiana through the years were Colonial Club in Esterwood, Reno Club in Kaplan, T-Maurice in Bosco, China Ball Club in Bristol, Triangle Club in Scott, Jolly Rogers in St. Martinville, and Happy Landing in Arnoudville – just to name a few.

"I have been and am still playing at La Poussière for the past thirty-two years and still going strong there every Saturday."

"I recorded one single (Scoot Playboy Special) in 1970 and (Lonely Girls Waltz), also on sound track of film "Jai été Au Bal" (I Went to the Dance) and the "Convict Waltz."

"The biggest influence in my life was my dad who taught me the basics and explained how to use double notes and how to use bass buttons."

"I also listened to Lawrence Walker and Aldus Roger a lot when growing up."
